چکیده

Nowadays, in the civil engineering practice, the pile-building is the most universal type of foundation. It is usually associated with bridges, fly-overs and other civil engineering objects, industrial buildings, tall buildings, chimneys, tanks etc [1]. It is essential to control the quality of concrete piles. The most accepted weight-bearing capacity measurement technique is the static probe load (fig. 1b), which is realized in conformity with PN-83/B-02482 [2]. In addition, it is popular to use the dynamic measurements connected with generated loads and strains in the head and stem of a pile (PDA, CASE, CAPWAP). The dynamic impulse is generated by a falling mass or pile driver (Fig. 1a). Contrary to the capacity measurement, it is the most important to control the continuity and length of a pile. The most popular of these methods in construction practice are stress waves methods like SIT (sonic integrity testing) or PIT (pile integrity testing). In the following paper the non-destructive Impulse Response s’Mash method has been applied. This method belongs to stress waves methods and can be used to determine the length, cross-section area and quality of concrete piles.

Discrimination of Golab apple storage time using acoustic impulse response and LDA and QDA discriminant analysis techniques

ABSTRACT- Firmness is one of the most important quality indicators for apple fruits, which is highly correlated with the storage time. The acoustic impulse response technique is one of the most commonly used nondestructive detection methods for evaluating apple firmness. This paper presents a non-destructive method for classification of Iranian apple (Malus domestica Borkh. cv. Golab) according...

Design of Nondestructive System for Hardness of Carbonitrided Steel Parts ‎Using Eddy Current Testing Method: Case study on the Tappet Parts

In this paper, a non-destructive eddy current test system was designed to evaluate the surface hardness of the carbonitrided steel parts. For this purpose, various samples of the tappet were used after the surface hardening and grinding operations as control samples and, if necessary, were subjected to destructive and non-destructive tests. Microstructural studies were performed with a microsco...

Prediction of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete Compressive Strength

Nowadays, the better performance of lightweight structures during earthquake has resulted in using lightweight concrete more than ever. However, determining the compressive strength of concrete used in these structures during their service through a none-destructive test is a popular and useful method.  One of the main methods of non-destructive testing in the assessment of compressive strength...

Analysis Method for Laterally Loaded Pile Groups Using an Advanced Modeling of Reinforced Concrete Sections

A Boundary Element Method (BEM) approach was developed for the analysis of pile groups. The proposed method includes: the non-linear behavior of the soil by a hyperbolic modulus reduction curve; the non-linear response of reinforced concrete pile sections, also taking into account the influence of tension stiffening; the influence of suction by increasing the stiffness of shallow portions of so...

Identification of Delamination Damages in Concrete Structures Using Impact Response of Delaminated Concrete Section

The deteriorating national infrastructures demand improved non-destructive evaluation (NDE) methods for detection of defects which reduce the integrity of the structures. Vibration resonance tests offer an efficient NDE method to identify and characterize shallow (near surface) delamination defects in reinforced concrete slabs In this study, we compare the capability to visualize near surface d...
